Another fascinating peak after work. Started at 2 PM and by 4 I was standing on top of Angel Wing. I felt like I was flying -passing people who were already heading back from Grinnell Glacier Overlook. Honestly, I was surprised at how many hikers were out there, given that the road to Many Glacier is still closed.

About 30–40 minutes in, the rain started and didn’t let up for at least an hour and a half. That made the climb (and especially the descent) as brutal as it gets—soaked, cold, and second-guessing whether I should have gone at all. No one else on the trail, a glacial stream crossing, and endless rain… not exactly comforting conditions.

But the top was worth it. The views stretch wide—you can spot four lakes, three glaciers, and countless peaks. Many Glacier is truly a special place.

On the way back, I had plenty of time to slow down. Picked huckleberries by the handful (sweet, fresh, and perfect—enough to bring some back for my fiancée). By Josephine Lake, I spotted a grizzly crossing the trail and another in the bushes nearby. I think they were the same pair Eva mentioned seeing a few days ago.

Back at Many Glacier Hotel, I ended the day with an inspiring conversation with a 61-year-old thru-hiker who’s about to finish the CDT, having already completed the AT and PCT in past years. What a legend.
