Legit one of the hardest treks I've ever done, on a faint (and sometimes non existent) trail used only by hunters and gold miners. But in exchange for all the hardships and danger, I got the most authentic, truly off the beaten track experience, both nature and culture. 

Over 100 leeches pulled off my clothes and body, fording the same treacherous river back and forth again and again, too many sections where any small misstep could lead to a serious injury in this hyper remote place... It's a surprise that I came out with just bruised tailbone, too many leech bite marks, and small scratches.

Even getting to and out of the trek are adventures on their own, with multiple days of river travel, including some rapids section that apparently claim a few lives every year.
