Four days and three nights in the park with Patrik and Diemante.

Saturday: hit the trailhead after work, at 430pm, and hiked 14 miles in to camp. In bed by 1130.
Sunday: Mt. Cleveland. Started at 9am, got back to camp just after midnight.
Monday: Mt. Merritt. Started at 10am, back to camp by 1030pm.
Tuesday: 530 wakeup call, on the trail by 645, 14 miles back to trailhead by noon, back in time for our closing shifts.

There's more to say about this trip than I want to write on my tiny phone screen. Pushed harder on Merritt than I have since I was in my 20s. Left some blood, and probably a year of my life on that mountain.

Lessons learned, confidence regained, knees deeply questionable. And everyone came back alive.

If you find a Smartwater bottle in a crevasse on Old Sun Glacier 20 years from now, it's mine.
