Morning Ride

The 2013 2wd CRV is really kicking some ass on this trip so far… drove it 1.3 miles up the 4wd road at 4:45 am not really realizing how horrendous the road condition was. Still can’t believe the CRV maintained traction and only scraped a few times. Was hoping to get a hitch up from there but the few cars that passed were full. Eventually Kenzie and Lilly passed by us in a car with some better luck hitching. 
Still made it to the official trailhead by sunrise and high tailed it all the way up in the golden light.
With ice still on the rocks we ascended the  “scramble” and summited by 8:30am. One of the more impressive 14er summits I’ve seen. Incredible views and exposure on the north side. Only stayed for a bit though before heading back down. Trying to maximize my recovery time between 14ers by minimizing the time spent actually hiking/at elevation. 
Chatted with Pete and jack the whole way down and even got a jeep hitch from some kind folks from Portland I’d met yesterday in lake city. 
Still - two 14 mile 4,000+ days back to back
