The boys and I went for an out-and-back hike on the Catoctin Trail from Route 77/Foxville Road to the trail's northern terminus at Mt. Zion Road.  We have now hiked the entire 27-mile trail, and since all of our hikes were out-and-backs, we have really in effect hiked it twice--once in each direction (with the exception of the southernmost 1.65 miles that we only hiked north, because we took Gambrill Park Road back to the lot to make it easier for my youngest son who had fallen during the hike).
