Working early and late every single day this week to try and get out the door for vacation without any emergencies but somehow still got my lunch running window cut in half by bullshit. Made it back just in time for the 'department meeting' (hard to call it that after they've gutted staffing so badly) where they said we will be going to a new system of week long, 24 hour on-call support rotations. I am a software developer / data engineer. Doing prod support because they offshored/laid off all of their actual prod support. I reached out to my director to explain that I am in the woods most of the weekends for most of the hours and was very explicit in understanding the off-hours commitments before taking this job. "I think that's okay as long as you have internet." In engineering parlance: you have caused a buffer overflow with the magnitude of fucking off you can go do. 

Anyway, saw some very unexpected boot tracks in the IBM woods. Tried to follow them but lost em in a thawed patch of dirt and found a bunch of thorns instead. Looks like the dump is expanding at the end of Redmond and jeopardizing my smelly train tracks trespass. Can't win today...
