Another breathtaking hike after a bit of a delayed start to the day. Woke up to rain in Queenstown, though it had mostly subsided by the time I left the hotel. Another detour not too long into the drive as the mountain pass I was planning on taking was closed (to me) because the rental car didn't come with tire chains. Probably added about an hour to the trip and upon my approach I made the call to do this hike first (instead of second) in hopes of better conditions on the larger of the two hikes.

Regardless, this hike was pretty amazing, even if it wasn't super long or tall. Diamond Lake is a bit overrated, I mean there was only one spot to view it, but the ascent up Rocky Hill provided several outlooks with stunning views of Lake Wanaka and surrounding mountains, including stop number two of the day. Trail was a bit (or very) wet at times, not sure how much it rained last night, but definitely a fair amount. Encountered one minor spot of wet grass/ mud that clogged up my shoes briefly, but managed without too much issue.
