I didn’t want to, but I showed up anyway.

The track always feels like a mental loop, the same circle again and again, but sometimes that’s the message — keep going, even when it feels repetitive or heavy.

The last mile, I added sprints on one side and bleachers on the other, pushing myself through the resistance. I finished with two sets of five burpees, sprinted to the top of the bleachers, did ten calf raises on each side, and came back down feeling stronger than when I started.

Gus ran wild, finding joy in a muddy little hole and the freedom of open space. There’s something grounding about watching a dog live fully in the moment, no rules, just joy. The breeze, the sun, the quiet hum of the earth beneath us made me feel held by something bigger than myself.

Not every day will feel inspired, but every step still matters.
