No smoke, fire crew gone. Pop tarts gone. Start 5k ft ascent. First 5 shaded along river, nice! Dip. Poison oak below 3kish. Next 5 steep, overgrown, blowdowns. Smoke blows in. Last 5 more exposed, blowdowns, thorny. Bunch of deer and bees at spring, plus massive three trunked tree. Rolling terrain and granite peaks. Lost spork. Cool marble formations. Text from Sunset - fire closure started just behind me, I may be last sobo through. Cowboy camp on ridge with nearly 360 degree views, tent stake ramen, see fire burning on hillside to south, Milky Way. Sleep great.
