Cold smoky morning. Sleeping bag parka. Fireweed cotton. Trinity Alps Wilderness. Chat with Outback at water, then Gizmo, walk with them a bit. Leapfrog with Shaggy/Peaches a few times. Dip at stream. Big smoke plume near trail(?)… yep Root Fire growing quick, 20mi east/60 trail miles sobo. Cool rocks. Plume growing. Easy flat walking! Get to SPOG camp late. Sunset in later. Ants crawl over me all night, no inner tent a mistake :(
