The journey back north began with an amazing breakfast burrito from Gladstone mercentile, and with spectacular tailwinds most of the day. Pit stopped at the northwest corner of Texas and the TX-OK-NM triple points just for the heck of it. Oklahoma immediately killed the vibe with removing the road shoulder and I had to take shelter from the rain and lightning in a very kind woman's garage only 9 miles from my destination. I'm extremely glad I did, since the resulting sunset/rainbow/golden hour/Pink Floyd soundtrack was amongst the most beautiful experiences I've ever had on a bike, period. I was the only person out there at to catch the fleeting moment and truly epitomizes why these tours are so special to me.
