Woke up with everything dewy and made my way to black mesa to touch the highest point in OK. Pretty amusing that the monument was 1200ft from NM. I knew getting to Springfield tonight after the hike was ambitious, but the headwinds directly in my face going north really soured the mood and I elected to divert a few miles west to a picnic area to retire early instead of killing myself just toale miles. I think there's winds tomorrow too, so I just want to rest up a bit. The fun part was also the NM-CO-OK trip point, and the cool mesas filled with dinosaur fossils.
